I first saw these beauties in the dm drug store in Germany but when I went back to get them they were closed! Remember never to go shopping on a Sunday in Germany. Lucky enough they also have dm stores in Budapest which was our next stop on our Euro trip.

I was just so entranced by the colour pay off and ease of these colour wands. I picked up a couple of classic colours to brighten up any eye. First is a white champagne colour called California Creamin’ (I wonder if that sounds just as dirty in German). Perfect for the inner corner of your eye or a brow bone highlight. I even tried mixing it will a little foundation on the cheekbones for a highlight. Mixing it stopped it from drying down so harshly and added a perfect glow.

Next colour was Champagne Shower, a classic neutral to peach light gold colour that is probably the colour I get drawn to the most frequently. Looked amazing when I blended it into the middle lid for a real lift to a smokey or matte eye.

Mixing it stopped it from drying down so harshly and added a perfect glow.

Thirdly I decided to get something with a little more depth. The colour I chose was called Smart Mauve. Looks great as a base for a smokey eye or to add depth to the outer corner of a modern blended eye. It’s a cool tone again with a touch of a silver purple sheen.

We went to a music festival a couple of days after buying these and they worked so well for building up a blinding shine. But they worked even better as a quick application, easy set smudge of colour when I didn’t want to put much effort in. Think easy finger application for understated chic. Well worth the tiny price tag.

Empties – August

As always I’m sad all these products are gone! Specially since my skin has loved these serums.

I can never get enough serums. I will always try a new one as you can tell by the three empty ones this month! (Although it’s taken me longer than a month to get through them.) I prefer to get an amazing serum and team it with a more basic moisturiser. I get more of a result that way.

Codage are the authority when it comes to serums. Skin Recovery is designed to work on skin damaged by cosmetic procedures (think peels, injections, lasers). While I haven’t had anything like that done, it’s calming and anti inflammatory factors still work amazingly on my skin. I’m prone to redness and this keeps any flair ups at bay. As a bonus it helps to strengthen your lipid barrier. Feels super light on the skin with a milky texture. Honestly it’s super expensive but I loved it so much.

Next up is the Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Luxury Face oil. Now I’m no stranger to a face oil and this one was no slouch. It’s a beautifully drenching oil that main goal is nourishment. If you want something more pure its a great one to str with as most peoples skin concerns can be improved with some antioxidants and omega oils. While it does feel heavy on the skin at first, it smoothes in very easily and dissipates into the skin without ant residue.

Good Genes is an incredible popular serum from Sunday Riley and with good reason. Its lactic acid and licourice help to brighten and refine your skin. It’s slightly exfoliating on the skin which makes it amazing at giving you the look of effortless, smooth and fresh skin. Just like you were born with good genes of course!

I was really taken by surprise by this night time spray by  Organic Pharmacy. I thought it would be like a toner which I’m never a fan of. When I spritz it on clean skin it was surprisingly hydrating! Its packed with retinol, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, gylcolic acid which could be harsh on the skin but in this formulation it feels nourished. As an added bonus it smells like jasmine which at night time is incredibly soothing. I woke up feeling dewy and fresh with an even skin tone. I use it every time I need a retinol boost.

I’ve been using Make Protected spray as a heat protector in my hair and its been saving my hair from added damage. I usually avoid heat protector sprays as they leave my hair super tacky and greedy but this one is lightweight and leaves very little residue. It feels like there is a little styling product in my hair and thats it. For the bonus of protecting my hair, its well worth it!

I’ve been using the Percy & Reed Big Bold & Beautiful Dry Instant Volumising Spray for some serious volume lately. It’s a dry spray that when sprayed in you roots creates massive volume. As it doesn’t have any sticky residue this is amazing to create lift. I use it just next to my side part and fringe, massage it in and wham! Instant volume! Looks amazing on fluffy freshly washed hair that is super hard to style.

Pre Holiday Purchases – July Haul

IMG_4619.jpg

To prepare for my upcoming trip, I made a few purchases to take over with me. Nothing like having fresh products on a trip! So I thought I would show you what I got and what I will be using while away.

IMG_4613.jpg

I’ve just added some blonde into the ends of my hair for a ‘cool European vacation’ vibe and I’m now in the process of finding some new products to help it look the best. I used to use Living Proof and then it became hard to find in Australia but now its back and its bloody amazing! These two sprays work together so well. Oe for volume and texture and the other for hold. My hair looks so much more polished with them and it just really ties together your look.

With a European vacation comes sun (I hope!) and with sun comes sunscreen! I’m pretty diligent with my sunscreen as I’m so fair and the MECCA Cosmetica To Save Face range is the absolute best! I usually use the Super Screen, SPF 50+ in the summer here. It’s a little heavier on the skincare benefits and much more moisturising on the skin plus of course an SPF of 50+ which is great for the Australian sun. I thought I would try the SPF30+ for this trip however as I feel the sun is not as intense oversees. I also just wanted something a little lighter on my skin while traveling around.Screen Shot 2018-07-10 at 9.35.31 pm.png

I will be going back to the SPF 50+ eventually as it’s so good with dehydrated skin which we all have in Melbourne! But for now the original To Save Face is going to be perfect Plus it comes in a lightly bigger tube so I’m set!

Nothing better on a holiday than a fresh looking face and while its nice to have a natural glow, sometimes you need a hand. NARS tinted moisturiser is the one I will always go for. It just looks so perfected on my skin. It’s hydrating but doesn’t compromise on a perfected finish.

The colour is warm and adds depth without being ashy or too red in colour.

Screen Shot 2018-07-09 at 10.08.42 pm.png

I’ve gotten the NARS Laguna Liquid Bronzer to mix with my tinted moisturiser to deepen the tone if needed. This way I need way less colour options for the trip as I’m almost three different colours from tanned, slightly washed off and my natural colour. The colour is warm and adds depth without being ashy or too red in colour.

Last but not least is this cool new hair product I have been reading about by Playa. It’s called the Endless Summer Spray and as if the title wasn’t enough to make me want it, its a volumising spray with supposedly like a sea salt spray with less of a crispy feel at the end.  Sounds perfect to me. I thought it would be more of an aerosol like spray but it’s a classic pump which means I will have to be careful with how much gets spayed into the hair but I’ll be looking forward to trying it out.

That’s it for now! Pretty excited to see how all these work out and play around for the best results. And of course I will be letting you k is which I loved the most and how I got on with them.

Time to pack now!
